Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress, was born in 1959. Her appearances on screen and stage have been praised over her entire three-decade career. Janney has received various awards including one Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. The seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also handed out to Janney. Two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was born in Boston and grew up at Dayton (Ohio). When she graduated from Kenyon College, she received an all-inclusive scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's television debut was in 1999 when she appeared as C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 until 2006). The actress won Four Primetime Emmy Awards for the performance. In"Masters of Sex," a Showtime Drama Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Janney won two Outstanding Supporting Actress Awards for Comedy series and was awarded six times by Primetime Emmy Awards.
